Following my previous post about life being the bare soil; I spoke about our actions as the seeds, and experiences are the fertilizer, and the quality of our life as well as the enrichment of our purpose is our harvest that we give to the world.
Let us build upon that idea and focus on HOW we invest in ourselves and our actions.
Sometimes there is so much you have going on that you have to just distill it all down to perhaps one to three key focal points.
This can be anything. Art, writing, a chosen sport, your career, but it has to be something that comes natural and empowering for you. Something that you would do for free, something that you could do for yourself always that is your release and gives you a sense of control and euphoria.
Even if it is simple and at first and you are not sure how it can improve your life. That’s not for you to worry about yet if you have the calling and it comes so naturally to you then you have the personal obligation and responsibility to foster that ambition. Just because it doesn’t make sense now is no reason to ignore that calling. Do not go against your nature. Embrace it.
Just because it is easy for doesn't mean it is easy for someone else and perhaps someone is in need of your natural ability.
For the sake of an example for this article I will use my own thing which is obviously.......cooking. Just kidding...it is my workouts. So how the art of training ties into investing into your life past its' surface benefits. Again I want to emphasize that a "workout" could be replaced with anything that calls to you and you dedicate yourself to.
So what does one do?
Make those workouts ( or pages writ, or art painted, or something built ) important for you and your self esteem physically and mentally.
Even more than that...every time you go for the workout or finish one you get one step closer to see the person you want TO BE. Then when looking in the mirror you see not who you ARE or WERE, but every time you eat well, workout well, or anything that's a positive investment in self, is one step up the staircase of the success you are aiming for.
In doing this it radiates to the rest of your life, because as you get closer to the person you want to be this affects the rest of your actions and decisions. It becomes your personal reference guide. The closer you get you then you make choices in the mindset of the best version of yourself that you are working towards. You start holding yourself projecting the idea and persona of the person you want to be. The closer you get the more focused this persona becomes, and the more you invest as it becomes clearer the more potent your passion becomes as it's distilled through your accumulative efforts.
Much like uranium...a small amount of purified energy and effort is more powerful than a great amount of non distilled.
As you get closer to that vision of yourself what you have to do becomes simpler ( not easier). This is where the distillation manifests.
Bruce Wayne as a kid did not know he was going to be Batman.
BUT...he saw the crime fighter he wanted to be and this drove his actions and decisions to forge himself to that vision. As he kept working toward this vision it became more distilled and more fluent.
In the same way keep that vision - your vision is your compass and your vision stems from what your calling in nature is. Let us also qualify the term nature as your natural abilities, way of thinking, and inspirations. What super charges your imagination and excitement toward an aspiration of greatness.
What gives you the feeling of an adrenaline surge of life without jumping out of a plane ( though for someone doing just that may be their call to action). Just because you cannot see the full manifestation of the figure that is your future self you can feel its presence and make out it's initial visage. It will not be until you build yourself closer to it that the details become sharper. Then as you engage it you begin to further distill it and then grow more and more in the image of the vision you hold.
Your Vision is your compass. Let it direct you.
From this then your narrative is the voice of the woman or man you are building not the girl or boy who was broken. Measure yourself but the process of investment that respect yourself with.
Happy training, Legion.
Follow your compass - Your gut knows where to go as long as you keep who you want to be as your goal ahead.
Shortly after initially writing this article I found out David Bowie passed. I thought it only fitting to add a small tribute to him since one of my personal motto's and motif for this site is
